((It’s been a while since I’ve made a guide, but this one was super easy. XD))

Guide to Spirits!

image

(First and foremost, you access your Spirit card (shown above) by clicking the little icon in the upper left, beside your Player icon.)

Spirits are little pets that follow you around that you can name and dress up and stuff.  They have a lot of cool accessories and styles and outfits and stuff.  Mine is obviously a bunny, but there are cats, dogs, pigs, reindeer, foxes, etc, and more to come.  Be on the look out for new Spirit parts to dress up your pet (usually on Union Cross!).  You can always change their appearance and name and stuff with no repercussion, just like your avatar.  But there’s a lot more Spirits can do other than looking cute.

Gear

Spirits add a sixth slot to every single keyblade, which is absolutely crazy.  The new slot has its own multiplier based on the Rank of your Spirit and it is not restricted by power/speed/magic type or reverse/upright affiliation, or even cost!  Every time you rank up your Spirit, the multiplier of this slot increases.

So the question: how do you increase the rank?  As shown above, the Spirit has six medal slots on its card.  When you click Gear, you can put any medals in those slots.  Each medal has a point value, usually based on how rare it is, that adds “experience” to the pet.  When a medal has a trait, it gets a 20% point bonus (80 turns to 96, for example) and turns yellow.  When a medal is slotted in your Spirit those medals are still usable in keyblades, so you should always put your highest point values in those slots.  The Optimize button does this for you.  The higher the rank, the higher the multiplier.

(Right now, Rank 9 is the highest.  For that, you need 6 trained 80pt medals, which is a lot easier to get than it sounds.  I’m sure more Ranks will be added soon, or may have been already by the time you read this.)

Tricks

More importantly, as a Spirit levels up, it learns Tricks - helpful bonuses in combat.  Here’s a list of what they are and what they do.  Each one can only be used once per battle, unless specified.

Rank 2: Steal - when an item drops, you get two. 50% rate.
Rank 3: Blast - 10,000 damage hit (or half a health bar).  Triggers when it will kill an enemy. (A lifesaver, honestly!)
Rank 4: Esuna - cleanses poison, paralysis, or sleep.
Rank 5: HP Recovery - a 100% Second Chance proc that stacks with SC skills! The literal best thing about pets.
Rank 6: Steal II - three items.
Rank 7: Status Boosts - Poison does more damage, paralysis immobilizes, and sleep lasts three hits.  Triggers when you put a status ailment on an enemy. Sleep Boost can be used twice in one battle.
Rank 8: Blast II - 30,000 damage.
Rank 9: PSM Boost - If you get Power, Speed, or Magic Strength to 7, it bumps it up to 8.  Usable once per turn, lasts ones turn.

Anyway, the long story short: pets are awesome.  Literally no downside to using them.  They don’t “use up” any resource.  Just mess around with them.

Have fun!

3 - Top 100
2 - Top 1k
1 - Top 10k

DB1 Max
3 - Top 100
2 - Top 1k
1 - Top 100k

A month off Coliseum was nice, but now we’re back at it.  Always-proc defense boosts are great, obviously.  They aren’t as useful as DB3 or DB4, but it means you don’t have to repeat missions with your fingers crossed.  And in an unprecedented display, we are getting two new skills instead of just one!

Titles:
Blue: Serenity
Pink: Feats
Now those are some nice titles!

Outfits:
Cute outfits, accessories, and hairstyles all in one month!  The Illusionist sets are the sort of thing you should be doing Coliseum for!

Rules:

Tier 11: 50 rounds with 18 skips
Tier 12: 100 rounds with 16 skips
Tier 13: 300 rounds with 9 skips
Tier 14: 999 rounds with 4 skips

One-turning skips a ton of rounds now.  Getting to Tier 11 takes only a few minutes, and getting up to Tier 14 is much easier than a few months ago.

P.S. I’m probably not going to make a guide for the Hades’ Cup because I’m having a busy holiday weekend and I really want to get Theater Mode up to date.  If you need help, please check the Kingdom Hearts reddit.  My advice is this: HaynerPenceOlette with EA will save your butt on Missions 14 and 15.  To deal with the archers, use 0.2 Kai, tap through, and kill them all with one strong AOE medal.  HPO is single target so still activate that.  Good luck!

August ‘17 Coliseum Guide

I liked the formula for last time, so I’m going to format it the same way:

Rewards:

AB4+Lux
3 - Top 100
2 - Top 1k
1 - Top 10k

These rewards are really great because it means I don’t have to do Coliseum this month!  AB4 Lux is basically useless if you have AB3 Max Lux.  Even AB2 Max Lux.  Having the medal “always activate” is just too good to pass up.

Titles:

Blue: Fierce Charge
Pink: Raging Winds

I guess they ran out of single words?

Outfits:

A hairstyle (or lack thereof).  Not even an outfit.  I swear, they are trying their hardest to kill the Coliseum.

Rules:

Complete Tier 10 for both hairstyles.
Tier 11: 50 rounds with 18 skips
Tier 12: 100 rounds with 16 skips
Tier 13: 300 rounds with 9 skips
Tier 14: 999 rounds with 4 skips

One-turning skips a ton of rounds now.  Getting to Tier 11 takes only a few minutes, and getting up to Tier 14 is much, much easier.

The big one here is that Tier 14 now does 4 skips instead of 3.  That’s a huge deal because you only need to beat three rounds every rotation instead of four.  And hopefully it will help make the grind a little more bearable.

Org XIII Event Guide ~ Saïx

Idk man.  I don’t even know.  Like.  I can’t help you.  I can’t even help myself.  I’m just going to post this on Reddit and pray to whatever KH gods there are that someone has some crazy off-the-wall back alley cheat for making this even somewhat possible.  Because I’ve been at it for almost two hours and I just don’t care.  I just don’t.

Fucking fuck.

Alright.  Uh.  Saix B does a crap ton of damage.  He’s reverse power.  He’s random target.  So in reference to his KH2 fight where he randomly gets super powerful and slaps you around with his spanking paddle, you get to fight the Werewolf.  The Werewolf waits a certain number of hits before it slaps you (and what little patience you may still have for this game) right into the ground.

So how do you kill it?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I started really having trouble at Round 7.  Then Round 11 really got me.  I finally managed to beat it using a very organized system of EXACTLY ten hits, AOE damage, and +4 Power Defense.  Round 12 would have been an absolute disaster if it wasn’t for my outrageous Nova level.  And Round 13’s combination of paralysis, uneven turn counters, and five thousand health bars basically guaranteed my surrender.

But guess what?!  A party member of mine managed to beat it.  With Axel EX.  So you know.  It’s possible.  You just have to be very rich or very lucky.  Which is how this game sort of works nowadays, isn’t it?

I am so tired.  I’m just so exhausted.  Good luck.

I was wondering if you had any suggestions to beat the 5th round of "Legendary Challenge" with the Mickey Medal cuz' I'm helplessly lost

Yes!  Actually my roommates and I figured out a really good trick to this.

1.) Have a cleanse to keep yourself safe from his buffs
2.) Pooh Bear.  Praying for Defense Boost procs is really stupid.  Getting +4 S-Def will keep you safe.  So that’s, Pooh Bear and a friend’s Pooh Bear.  Vexen B is a good alternative, as well as the new Orchestra Sora.  Cinderella & Jaq works.

After that, it’s just attrition.  Keep fighting until you win!

Hope this helped.

Org XIII Event ~ Zexion Guide

The bad news: this is the worst event since Xemnas.  It’s ridiculously hard and is geared almost exclusively to real-money players.  The only reason I was able to beat it is because I buy VIPs when they do the Tier 5 giveaways.  Honestly, I don’t know if any F2P player can beat this one.

The good news: Zexion B is exciting, compelling content!  +1 Str for one turn??  Random target?!  I’ve been waiting a year for a RAX medal that wasn’t so OP, and finally I have it!!  The real good news?  Zexion B isn’t worth the trouble.

In the spirit of the event, you see a lot of the “Barrier Master”, a Heartless sporting the same book weapon Zexion uses.  You also see enemies you can walk right through without fighting, referencing Zexion’s clones.  All enemies are magic type, since Zexion uses magic as his method of fighting.

Mission List:

Mission 1: Kill Barrier Master ~ HDL
Lv. 25 Barrier Master* & Bunch O’ Balloons** & Shadow Witch x2
The Gigas Shadows without bars above their heads do not trigger combat.

Mission 2: One Turn ~ Magic Mirror
Lv. 50 Blue Rhapsody x5
Lv. 50 Emerald Sonata*** & Wizard x2
Lv. 50 Barrier Master* & Shadow Witch x4

Mission 3: 60 Seconds ~ Zexion
Lv. 75 Barrier Master* & Bunch O’ Balloons** & Shadow Witch x4
The Large Bodies without bars above their heads do not trigger combat.

Mission 4: Two Turns ~ HDL
Lv. 100 Barrier Master* & Wizard & Ring-A-Ding**** x2

Mission 5: Kill Barrier Master x3 ~ Zexion
Lv. 125 Barrier Master*
Lv. 125 Barrier Master*
Lv. 125 Barrier Master*
They are invisible.  One is to the right when you start, at the tip of the crossroads.  Then take the bottom right portal.  The second one is in the bottom corner beneath the portal you come out of.  Go back through the portal, to the room with the four portals where you started.  This time take the upper left.  In the middle of this room, at the top, is the Target.  Again, Neoshadows without bars above their heads do not trigger combat.

Mission 6: One Turn ~ Magic Mirror
Lv. 150 Darkball x2 & Green Requiem# x3
Lv. 150 Shadow Witch x3
Lv. 150 Ring-A-Ding****
Lv. 150 Barrier Master* & Shamanwild x2

Mission 7: 50 seconds ~ Magic Mirror
Lv. 175 Barrier Master* & Bunch O’ Balloons** & Shadow Witch x4
Again, avoid enemies with bars above their heads.  When in doubt - especially with the Darksides - hug the bottom of the screen.

Mission 8: Two Turns ~ Zexion
Lv. 200 Barrier Master* & Emerald Sonata*** & Shadow Witch & Sleep Archer##

Mission 9: Kill Barrier Master x4 ~ Hairstyles!!
Lv. 225 Barrier Master*
Lv. 225 Barrier Master*
Lv. 225 Barrier Master*
Lv. 225 Barrier Master*
At least these ones aren’t invisible.  When you start, go straight to the right.  That’s one.  Then go down and to the right a little more.  That’s two.  Head back to the center and go straight to the left.  The Behemoths won’t trigger.  Go up, that’s three.  Go down, that’s four.

Mission 10: One Turn ~ Zexion
Lv. 250 Sleep Archer## & Ice Plant x2
Lv. 250 Candy Apple x2
Lv. 250 Shadow Magician & Shadow Witch x3
Lv. 250 Barrier Master* & Wizard x2 & High Wizard

Mission 11: 75 Seconds ~ Zexion
Lv. 300 Barrier Master* & Bunch O’ Balloons** & Shadow Witch x4
Navigate rooms one and two, then hug the top of the room for rooms three and four, and finally hug the bottom for room five.

Mission 12: Two Turns ~ Zexion
Lv. 325 Possessor & Barrier Master* x2 & Shadow Magician x2
Your first medal should be a buff, like +3 Str.  Your second medal has to be an AOE cleanse.  This isn’t optional.  iB&B with Extra Attack is the absolute best thing to have for slot 1.  After that, stack your +Str and general defense down.  Then hit it with your best AOE medals and Nova.  And pray.

Mission 13: Two Turns ~ Zexion & Title: No. VI
Lv. 350 Wretched Witch### & Barrier Master* x2 & Sleep Archer## & Emerald Sonata*** & Lv. 500 Chill Blade####
Well, fuck this mission.  There’s just no realistic way to describe this.  Between the Sonata’s healing, the Barrier Master’s buffs, and the Archer’s Sleep… and +50 health bar enemies?  Just.  Ugh.

So what do you do?  Sleeping Lion is a must for this mission.  All enemies are Magic and the multipliers on SL are too good to pass up.  You need an AOE cleanse.  You need +6 Str.  You need either Extra Attack on GDD or some -60% Ground Def.  You need a crap ton of luck with traits or guilted premiums or SOMETHING because damnit this mission is hard.  I really can’t give any advice here.  This game has gotten incredibly complicated and versatile and advice just won’t cut it.  Anything I recommend is going to alienate 90% of players no matter what I say.  So I’ll just tell you what I did:

SL+28:
~iB&B with Extra Attack
~Tieri with DB3
~Mickey&Minnie with SC
~150% KDG with Extra Attack & AB3 Max
~150% iHT Sora with -60% Ground Def & AB4
Share: 150% iHT Sora with -60% Ground Def & AB4

I got all my AB4 procs.  I was put to sleep on the second iB&B and couldn’t use Tieri or M&M on Turn 1.  I didn’t need SC, but I did need DB3.  Though I have a lot of +2000 Def on my medals by coincidence.

A party member who didn’t have Extra Attack on iB&B did this:
~Tieri with DB3
~iB&B
~iKairi with SC
The rest was basically the same.

I know a lot of this probably didn’t help, I’m so sorry. >_<  I can say with sincerity, with utmost honesty, that this is the absolute worst guide I have ever written.  So many new Heartless I had to look up.  So many stupid counters and special abilities.  I am so burnt out.  Please, SENA, do NOT give me another event for like.  Two weeks.

Good luck everyone!
