KHUX loves to put out events for their medal draws, which is good, because their usual “10 for 3k” is terrible. Today we’re going to talk about the Mighty Deal.
The Big Mighty Deal guarantees two 6* medals, but that’s not the best part. Each of those 6* comes with three orbs of guilt. (If you don’t know what guilt is, click here.) Each medal essentially needs six circles to get it’s guilt bonus. That means each of these 6* cards is halfway there!
Now for the bad news. Those 6* cards could be anything. They could be farmable medals, which only give up to 25% extra damage. One of the advantages of the Japanese version is that these farmable medals were removed from the medal draws. And there is zero chance of getting limited edition medals like Sephiroth or Sora and Pals, which is a huge drawback.
So is it worth it?
Here’s my general rule. Whenever you do a pull, make sure you keep EVERY medal that isn’t farmable. (Here’s a list.) Some are pointless to keep, like Daisy, who even if guilted will always be worse than Minnie. But every other one you should be trying to guilt. Yeah, this means you wind up with tons of medals, but this also means you are working on guilting multiple medals. And when draws are all chance, that’s important.
If you’re new to the game or you don’t have a lot of Tier 2 guilt cards (I would say at least one per type) then the Mighty Deal could be really great for you! Not only do you get two three-orb 6* medals, but you have a chance at orbs in any of the other medals you pull! This could be really good for the Free-to-Play player who knows they won’t be finishing those Adamantite quests for a long time. It’s a huge boost of power if you get a nice pull, and often guilting is more important than getting an epic medal!
If you’ve already got a handful of guilted cards (5 or more) then this probably doesn’t mean much. Epic Medal Carnivals are going to guarantee you an epic, often two depending on the event. Guilting those is game-breaking.
(For reference, I have 8 Tier 2 guilted medals and I don’t buy this deal).
As for the Big vs Mini: that 150 strength is really nice, but it’s not a make-or-break reward. If you can’t afford a Big, Mini has most of the same benefits.
tldr: Don’t have many guilts? Buy it. Got guilts? Don’t buy it.
